On the hook, and off the hook

This is my latest finish. A hot water bottle cover for Lexie, as she liked the one I made for her sister. It's not really cold enough to need right now, so I can keep it downstairs and look at it. I just love it. It's made with Stylecraft Special DK and to a pattern from a supplement from Homemaker Magazine, issue 38. It's by Lynne Rowe. It's a pretty good pattern, and I only made a couple of changes. I basically carried on the edging around the bottom on the back, and all round the top before I did the frillies.
And this is currently on my hook. It's aiming to be a large granny square blanket, in four squares. I am working in pastel colours, mostly to stashbust, but also because it may take a while, by which time the weather will have improved! I'm already thinking of spring.

Comfort crochet

Over the holidays, there was ample time to make lovely things. This is the hot water bottle cover I made for middle daughter Fizzy. She may be a popstar these days, but still loves her home comforts. She chose the yarns (Stylecraft Special DK) which we sell in the shop. The pattern is from Homemaker magazine. Very straightforward, really. I'm working on one for Lexie now. Here is Fizz
She is more used to professional shoots these days, and is always embarrassed to be in a snap.
These are the squares for Lexie's. I'm finishing it off now, but it's so easy to get distracted. They are so pretty. It's why I love crochet. And you can do it on the sofa while the television is on, so it's the best kind of hobby.
Here is Lexie enjoying the hot water bottle while she could. Wrexham trained as a Jedi Knight over Christmas. He's not really a baddie, they ran out of blue lightsabers. And Lexie likes red and doesn't care about the good and bad thing. And Wrexham is a werewolf, after all!

Work on the business is progressing. I have the van and lots of yarn, and I am working on all the extras. I have been to the wholesaler for hooks and so on; and the website, which is a technical nightmare for me, will be operational as soon as I can work out what I'm supposed to be doing. (Luckily, I have IT support!)
